Danny and business partner Jason believe that film can change society for the better. In front of the lens, Danny brought issues of disability to the world of acting and modelling. Then he met filmmaker Jason in 2006. They both believed that the media could be a powerful way to confront problems facing society today. They put their heads together and wrote a pitch for a short film. In need of some cash to start filming, they took the idea to a competition organised by the Big Boost in London. Taking the top prize, the boys were awarded funding from Unltd and before they knew it were working on their film. The film is a parody on the Calvin Klein Obsession advert. Called, ‘Sexy Because Seeing is Believing’, the film challenges people’s perception of beauty in a world dominated by images of the ‘perfect’ body. The film was selected for screening at X’08 Disability International Film Festival at the National Film Theatre and led to Danny’s offer of a place on the 2007 Summer Academy. Following the success of their debut short film, the pair formed a not-for-profit media company.
They’ve since worked on a documentary film for a dance group as well as a DVD project for the Youth Offenders arm of Islington Council. Their client list continues to expand. Their ideas continue to challenge and inspire change in the world.
